Hape Holding

Innovating for Our Future Generation

World Intellectual Property Day, April 26, 2022

World Intellectual Property Day is a global celebration that raises awareness about patents, copyrights and trademarks. It is also a day that commemorates innovation and creativity. Today, in celebration of the World IP Day 2022, we want to take the opportunity to reflect on the creative forces behind our brand and look at what we do to protect our creative work.

We Dare to Dream Big

Hape toys are sold in over 100 countries and regions around the world, and to effectively serve our diverse customer base, we need a diverse team. Our global design team consists of over 40 designers from around the world that strive to create a positive impact for the families that buy and play with our toys and,  although our designers come from very diverse cultural backgrounds, they all have one thing in common: their love and interest for play and toys!

Maya, one of our young Toy Designers, explains, “My passion for toy design came early on and it seemed only natural to me, therefore, to pursue a career in the toy industry. I consider myself very lucky because I can turn my ideas into reality and make my dreams come true. I keep moving forward, and I keep moving toward my dreams.” It is young and ambitious Hape Designers like Maya, with a vision and greater purpose in what they do, that add value to our products and our brands.

Good Ideas Need Good Protection

All great products begin with great ideas, and as an innovative and creative toy company, ingenious ideas are the backbone of our success. We believe that original product inventions deserve protection and belong exclusively to its inventor. To achieve this objective, we not only collaborate closely with the State Intellectual Property Office and the Market Supervision Bureau, but have stipulated practices and policies intended to make sure our consumers can have confidence that any product carrying the Hape trademark is a Hape brand product.

At Hape, we believe that the creative minds behind our toys are our greatest asset, and their great ideas need our protection. At the same time, we believe that protecting the authenticity of our products protects the families that buy and play with our toys.
