Drama Education Matters
Honouring the Art of Theatre– the 60th World Theatre Day, March 27, 2022
World Theatre Day was celebrated for the first time by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1962 to promote the importance of “theatre” as an art from. It has been celebrated annually around the globe ever since, by the ITI, theatre organisations, theatre universities, professionals and theatre fans. It is also a day that raises public awareness about theatre’s value and benefit to society as a whole and to the individual.
Benefits of Drama and Play in Education
Studies have shown that drama education can play a vital role in child development. When children participate in imaginative activities like theatre, it can help them develop a variety of crucial skills. Drama education enables children to express their feelings in a healthy manner. Knowing that people are listening and paying attention while they perform, children build confidence and self-esteem. Seeing the world through a new perspective helps youngsters to think of new ideas and possibilities. Children who participate in drama education tend to be more creative and often become independent thinkers. Through pretend play children can see things from another person’s perspective, which helps them to develop sensitivity towards others. Drama education is also an effective way to improve communication skills, as through role-play and drama activities children learn voice projection, articulation of words and fluency with language. They also learn how to observe and actively listen to others.
About Us and Dramatic Play
Our company is committed to supporting children’s development and learning through dramatic play toys.
We’ve worked with academic experts, teachers and children and their parents to develop toys that encourage children’s creativity and imagination. We want children to create their own imaginative worlds with our role-play sets, play food products and doll houses. Through our cooperative play sets, children hone social and emotional skills that are a major predictor of a child’s future success. Moreover, our hand puppets help children improve their language skills and their listening skills.
To us, it is no secret that imaginative play is fundamental to child development, and that is why we are committed to encouraging creative play and nurturing imaginations with our toys and accessories.
